DNS records setup
These are the records a domain needs to work with your PDS. Your dashboard always shows the exact values for yours; the examples use example.com.
Hosting records
| Type | Name | Value | What it's for |
|---|---|---|---|
| CNAME | _acme-challenge.example.com | example.com.verify.beardeddutchman.net | Lets us get a TLS certificate for your domain |
| A | example.com | the address shown in your dashboard | Points your domain at your PDS |
| CNAME | *.example.com | ingress.peedee.es | Points every handle under your domain at your PDS |
For a subdomain (people.example.com), the same three records use that name instead.
On marque.at the second record is a CNAME to ingress.peedee.es, because marque.at allows that for a whole domain.
Email records
If your PDS sends email through our relay, your domain also needs two DKIM records so the email isn't marked as spam. The Email tab lists them. See Email.
